Community Nutrition and Wellbeing Through Cooperative Participation

Poshan & Nutrition Hubs is a community-driven initiative of the Unati Agri Allied and Marketing Multi-State Cooperative Society Ltd. (UAMMCL). It strengthens nutrition awareness, informed food practices, and everyday wellbeing through cooperative-led learning and women-led participation. The initiative treats nutrition not as a campaign, but as a shared community ecosystem.

Purpose of Poshan & Nutrition Hubs

Poshan addresses gaps in nutrition awareness, dietary habits, and access to reliable food knowledge in rural communities.
It strengthens understanding of balanced diets, promotes culturally rooted nutrition practices, links local food systems with wellbeing, and builds cooperative participation for healthier societies.
It functions as a community-based system, not a welfare activity.

Poshan Hub Model and Approach

Poshan & Nutrition Hubs operate as local platforms that combine awareness, participation, and cooperative responsibility.
They enable nutrition discussions, engage trained women and cooperative members, promote locally relevant food practices, and integrate wellbeing with livelihoods — making nutrition a shared responsibility.

Key Focus Areas

  • Nutrition Awareness & Education – Simple learning on balanced diets and food diversity.
  • Community Wellbeing – Encouraging informed everyday food and lifestyle choices.
  • Women-Led Engagement – Unati Behans and trained women as trusted community facilitators.
  • Local Food Systems – Connecting nutrition knowledge with local and value-added foods.

Integration Within the UAMMCL Ecosystem

Poshan & Nutrition Hubs work closely with UAMMCL initiatives such as Unati Behan, rural enterprise platforms, and consumer wellbeing pathways.
This ensures nutrition, livelihoods, and cooperative participation grow together as one ecosystem.

Community Engagement

The hubs conduct community meetings, awareness sessions, and locally adapted activities led by women facilitators and cooperative members — respecting local food traditions while encouraging healthier choices.

Long-Term Vision

Poshan contributes to UAMMCL’s vision of responsible consumer wellbeing by promoting sustained behavior change, institutional nutrition awareness, and long-term community ownership.
In the Unati spirit, wellbeing is built collectively.

Commitment to Responsible Nutrition Practices

The initiative follows evidence-based nutrition awareness, ethical communication, dignity, participation, and institutional accountability — without curative or medical claims.
Its focus remains on awareness, prevention, and community wellbeing.
